Are you blogging this?

DOPA has had me down in the dumps! I needed some humor and found some today. Check out how David Lee King celebrates his second anniversary of blogging with “Are you blogging this?” He says:

I’m going to give you some good, old-fashioned entertainment (well, maybe not old-fashioned). I’m going to give you a song. And a video. About Web 2.0.

I love it! It gave me a “well-needed” laugh. Hope it does the same for you!

I also like his poster about DOPA. Thanks David, for the great entertainment!!

Thanks for sharing the link to the video - too bad only about 15 people in my school district would have ANY idea what he’s talking about. . . . My district already filters anything with the words pod, blog, wiki, email, social networking, frappr, myspace, etc. so I’ve been trying for a year to convince the powers-that-be to UNBLOCK them and let me do fun web 2.0 stuff with my students, and now DOPA. To say I’m a little discouraged would be an understatement — I’m having trouble getting psyched to write lessons for this new year because I was hoping to blog, podcast, wiki, moodle, etc. I guess I’ll have to focus on DI, PLC, CQI and the other assorted acronyms they’re pushing this fall. But I can still take the kids to Delicious, Flickr and Think! All is not lost!

Thanks for the insights, laughs and encouragement.

    hi,

We started a free site called teachade for teachers and I was wondering if you’d take a look to see what you think. Basically we’re looking to build a community of teachers to support each other through professional development and resource exchange. We’re looking for your input and suggestions on how to improve the site. Hope to see you join us and participate.

  4. Cant Filter Me Says:

My brother-in-law is originally from Mexico and even now struggles to speak clear English. His ESL teacher suggested that he watch American television exhibits to pick up on idioms which might be commonly used. He loves to Cant Filter Me. so, every chance he gets, he borrows our laptop to try and do just that. My husband and I would like to see him succeed in this goal so we are considering purchasing him a laptop for his birthday. He would demand to buy Online access, but I feel they can afford that on their monthly budget. I haven’t addressed this with my sister yet, but hope to this weekend.
