Ken,
At first, keep it simple. There is much to learn. I would invite you to just begin thinking of ways to ensure that your students and you are talking, reading, and writing frequently about how and what you are learning and thinking. Get them to explore their thinking and believe me you will be doing the same. Get them to interact with others through comments. Value the students' ideas, build a community of learners who respect and encourage each other. You could start with a class blog where they comment on yours and then consider blogs for the students. There is no right or wrong way - this is an area that is wide open for exploration of learning possibilities for educators. I wish you the best and am honored to have received your first post ever!

Hello Anne,
I'm in the process of starting a blog and I'm not sure where to begin. I'm a high school educator and though I've known about blogs and blogging, I never really had an interest in using one as a learning tool. I attended the BLC06 conference and it really made me think. What advice would you give for a "virgin" blogger? As a matter of fact this is my first post ever!

Hi Anne

Glad to see you are helping education see how it can and needs to
leverage web and technology for its advancement.

I'm a young web 2.0 entrepreneur and my mom is a public school teacher in Oakland, CA. In everything I plan and build, I try to integrate some element of learning, whether subtle or overt, into the website.

If you have some time, check out FAQQLY. We're a 3 month old beta, featured in CNET, Mashable!, MTV News, etc. And I'm working also on a project with the Chinese gov't to do an educational kids portal. Just thought to connect with you since you seem to be somewhat like minded.
