Inservice with DeKalb Teachers

Hillary Meeler and I are at the William Bradley Center for Technology conducting a weblog inservice for a great group of instructional technology specialists. Right now they are busy exploring all the ways to create their very own blog!

Thank you so much for the great presentation. I saw your students last week and had so many questions about weblogs. They wer all answered and more. I especially appreciate the time you gave us in class to look at weblogs. I am very impressed with the students’ writing.

Thanks for a very informative class. I will be using this with 3 elementary schools involved in a federal math grant so that the teachers and students can share their reflections as they move forward with creating new math learning experiences using the new Georgia Performance Standards and technology.

I am so excited about blogging and what it can do for student achievement in writing and reading. I used worry years ago (before InTech)that the advent of technology would somehow take away students’ interest in learning to do either. Blogging provides an avenue for students to be creative and fluent in writing. It also instills in them a yearning to quest for the written word. I cannot wait to begin!

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences blogging with us. You have given me some great ideas and I will have to mull them over for awhile to think about the direction to go. Our students need so much practice writing and I think blogging is another way to encourage this.

    Anne and Hillary,

It was great to see both of you again. Your presentation was excellent in that it was informative and thought provoking for us to think about how we can utilize this concept with our kids in DeKalb County. I can also see how I can use this with the cohort I am in for grad school. I can see us using this with many students in the system with the different programs we are implementing in DeKalb. Thanks a bunch.

Thank you for your time and great wealth of information on weblogs. I have ideas for personal blogs as well as insight as to how to use blogs with Middle School students with former InTech participants. I see many uses with all levels of students in DeKalb County. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
