Honors English Class Blogs on School Web Page
Honors English class from De Anza College will be posting in blogs on the De Anza Web page twice a week. The goal is to create a superior medium for discussion of literature over the old online teaching system. Professor John Lovas said, “The blog allows us to do things we can’t do in threaded discussion. Students will be required to post at least twice a week. The blog allows us to do things we can”t do in threaded discussion.” The posts students are required to make center around a quotation, either from the readings or from something somebody said during the class discussion. Students are able to read each other’s blogs and make comments in them.
Another interesting project to follow…..

Hi Anne:
The teacher got so excited about your site that she had her class chose different idioms, illustrate them, and now has a blog up and ready to go. She will take pics of the illustrations and students will post about them. We put a link to “Idioms Are Fun!” and “Wrinkles” on the site. She wants her students to comment on your student’s sites and vice versa. First post will be up tomorrow. It’s at http://www.tabulas.com/~Chelsey . I would have emailed you about it but our district is revamping our email system (argh!) and the thing is a mess!!! Emails appear and disappear–and that’s when it allows me to actually log on!!!

I visited “Wrinkles” and commented on all the blogs. I am so amazed–surprised, astounded, astonished–to see the incredible growth in the student’s writing! I’m proud of you and your work, and happy to count you among my superblogging friends!

Thanks SuperThinker! You have no idea how much your posts mean to them. I am always greeted with - “Have we heard from Super Thinker?” Don’t you just love this wonderful superblogging community?
I really like the blog you shared in the Yahoo Group about you. I’m going to share it with my mom. She will love it!
