Diana
My heart is heavy today as I lost a good friend after her two month bout with cancer. Her funeral was today.
My bond with Diana was not only as a teacher, but also as a friend and a mother. Our two oldest daughters, my Jill and Diana’s Lara have been best friends since pre-school. We shared many treasured moments over the years….. the joys, the love and yes, even the highs and lows all familes share.
The above words are part of the eulogy I said today for my good friend Diana. I will miss her.

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I came home about two hours ago from a Buddhist Memorial Service for a friend of mine who passed away two weeks ago. It was a beautiful ceremony that focused on the eternity of life, the depth of bonds people create and the meaning they leave behind in the lives they touch. Someone quoted McCartney “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Judging from your kind words, your friend made, and took with her, alot of love, as did my friend, Patti. I only hope that when I am gone I will be thought of as fondly as your friend Diana, and my friend Patti.
