While in Santa Barbara for the NWP Urban Sites conference, I stumbled upon the Reading and Writing Together book by Nancy Steineke.  I have seen alot of "teachers books" but this rocked. This summer, our upper grade teachers used it for planning for the coming year.  What really came home to me was the importance of building a climate of trust in a classroom and how that is so important if one wants to have a truly student centered classroom. 



Excellent to see blogs being used in pre-service teaching! I have something to show the folks I work with at UIC.
